Friendship Day
“A sweet friendship refreshes the soul.”
In these difficult moments, the only support we cling on to is the support from our friends. Griffins celebrated this bond of trust and love through a series of amazing activities engaging students. This wonderful event was conducted on a virtual platform. Virtual games like Join the dot, guess who is it? and doodle a card enabled the students to know their classmates better and enjoy the day thoroughly.

Carbon Footprint Awareness Day
Carbon footprint refers to the impact that our daily activities have on the amount of carbon dioxide produced through burning of fossil fuel and is expressed as a weight of carbon dioxide produced in tons.
As an extension of the Earth Ambassador Project launched on Earth Day 22nd April 2021, Griffins International School has recently observed ‘Carbon Footprint Awareness Day’ where the students participated in the following activities:
Class VI: Wall Hanging
Class VII: Poster Making
Class VIII: Plastic bottle recycling.
They aim to spread awareness and help materialise the value of the 3R’s (reduce, reuse and recycle).

Kargil Diwas
Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed on 26th July every year to honour the Kargil War’s Heroes. On this day, the heroes of the Indian Army are remembered who lost their lives back in 1999. Griffins International School observed the day through the virtual medium. The students of classes VIII & IX not only got to know the details of this day but also enjoyed attempting an informative quiz related to the topic.

Earth Ambassador
Our Mother Earth is getting polluted day by day due to our activities.
Carbon footprint is the amount of emission of carbon dioxide due to our daily activities. Our young ambassador Ms. Debasmita Mandal of grade 6A has wonderfully shown how we can reduce pollution to make a happy and green Earth.
We urge you all to step up for a better future by reducing the usage of plastics and preventing pollution and thriving for alternative and greener sources of energy.

Doctor’s Day Celebration
India celebrates National Doctors’ Day on July 1st, every year to honour the birth and death anniversary of the great physician and second chief minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy.
This video is made by students of Grade VIII to pay tribute, to all doctors, who are selflessly and tirelessly working for us every day.
The video briefly showcases the evolution of medical science in India, starting from Ayurveda to modern medical science.

The momentous day of June 12th, 2021 dawned to bestow responsibilities on the deserving young LEADERS of GIS to lead their school from the front with their commitment, confidence, and competence.
The ceremony was headed by the Principal Mrs. Sabari Brahma. It was graced by the presence of the Chairman Mr. Abhishek Kumar Yadav and Headmistress Ms. Ruma Majumdar. As always, overcoming the challenges on the path, Griffins took the responsibility to celebrate the ceremony uniquely, on a virtual platform to carry forward the spirit of leadership.

Birthday Celebration of Satyajit Ray
Dear parents,
The legendary SATYAJIT RAY has written several books for children and made films which are a must watch for children.
Griffinites recreated some of his legendary characters like ‘Feluda’, ‘Professor Shonku’, ‘Gupi Gayen’, ‘Bagha Bayen’, ‘Apu and Durga’ to INSPIRE STUDENTS to read his books and watch his films which are both entertaining and principled.

World Heritage Day – 2021
World Heritage Day is observed and celebrated. every year on April 18. The organization that is International Council on Monuments and Sites in the particular year 1982 officially declared April 18 as the World Heritage Day.
The students of Griffins International School highlighted the importance and necessity to preserve our heritage through this video. Here they are talking about the following heritage sites of India:

It is important to value our Heritage as by valuing our Heritage we value our culture, our past as well as our present and our native place and everything connected to it. It preserves the lives and decades that are bygone and are only stories and memories now.

Poila Boishakh – 2021
Griffinites display some of the beautiful traditions that have been integral part of the celebration of the Bengali New Year through ages; traditions like opening of Halkhata (new book of accounts), decoration of houses with alpana (traditional painting done with rice and flour), preparation of special delicacies and so on.

Ambedkar Jayanti – 2021
Young children of today are the future of India who can play pivotal roles in becoming responsible and constitutionally sound citizens.
The students of Griffins paid homage to Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the father of the constitution of India, on his birthday. The Griffinites observed Ambedkar Jayanti on 14th April through their performance in a Nukkad Natak (street theatre) to propagate social messages.
